The rapid
development in the information technology & telecommunications in the 1990s has
a key effect on the market research. Not only the new tools are developed but
also the use of new technology has led the market to take advantage of these.
Regarding these, CAI (Computer Assisted/Aided Interviewing) methods are becoming
an important part in our business and we are well prepared to conduct such
studies.
In CAPI
and CATI methods, respondent's answers are keyed directly into the computer and
the administration of the interview and survey is managed by our specifically
designed programme, which minimises entry time and avoids interviewer errors. By
using such tools the fieldwork is realised with higher control aspects within a
short period of time.
CAPI
interviews are conducted with notebook computers. Currently, Barem Research
International has 20 computers to use for CAPI. One of the CAPI studies we
realised was during CeBIT Biližim 2002 fair. Almost 2000 interviews were done
with visitors and results were fully available and announced in 6 days from the
beginning of study, which was the last day of the exhibition.
Our CATI
centre has 25 terminals to ensure fast response. The CATI room and the
interviewers are monitored by a supervisor during interviews, both with audio
and visual devices. Results are directly transferred to analysis programs with
the end of the fieldwork. The number of interviews in a day varies due to the
length and structure of the software, but with 25 interviewers we can reach a
minimum 500 interviews a day.
Our CAI services include:
• CAPI (Computer Assisted/Aided Personal Interviews)
• CATI (Computer Assisted/Aided Telephone Interviews)
• CAWI (Computer Assisted/Aided Web Interviews)
Some other exciting methods will be available soon.
